BIO:
Lucy Gail has Doxitude!!! She wants to be top dog with her family and the other dogs in the household so if you are willing to work with her on that or have no other dogs than please consider adopting her. She has lost a little weight but sill working on her girlish figure which should be perfect about the time she is ready to come to you in 2-3 weeks. Big attitude in a little package. She thinks shes all that and a bag of chips! Lucy Gail was found as a stray by a good Samaritan, when she wandered up to her home out in the country in rural TN. The Good Samaritan looked for the owner but none was found so we were contacted to see if we would take her. We were happy to take this beautiful little girl. When she first met the rescue lady she was a little snippy but warmed quickly and decided that the rescue lady was ok too. She didnt like the crate she was put in and voiced her opinion loudly. Rescue felt there was no doubt that Lucy Gail belonged to someone because she had not been on her own long so she was dumped for whatever reason. It took her all of half a day to get used to the other dogs, doggie door and follow her temp foster mom all over the house. She is happy at night to go into the gated kitchen and snuggle down in her very own doggie bed but the next morning when she hears you stirring shes letting you know that she wants out and she promptly goes out to do her business. Lucy Gail does have a few more lbs than she really needs so we have her on a diet and when finished she should be about 11lbs. Her little legs are no longer than about 2 inches long and she has the cutest fat feet and wrinkles. Because her legs are so short its important to get the weight off her and not allow her to jump or do a lot of stairs. From what we can see she is housebroken but might have an accident or two in her new home. Our wish for Lucy Gail is to have a fenced in yard, a family that is home most of the time or take her with them and wont allow her to get over-wieight and jump or have a lot of stairs. Thank you for thinking of rescue and remember when you adopt one you save two the one you adopted and the one you made room for.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee added for the required Health Certificate. We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures. We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of $35 once to transport the dog to an approved quarantine facility and then a second fee of $50 to get the dog out of quarantine after two days. The quarantine is a New Hampshire requirement for any animal imported into the state. We cannot negotiate or waive these fees as they are expenses to AADR. To understand the adoption process through AADR please visit the Adoption Information. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.
